The practice is equipped with state of the art diagnostic equipment from Haag Streit, Nidek, iCare and Heine. The aim is to provide high quality diagnostic testing in one place, enhancing the patients’ experience and optimising their eye health. There is a refractive station with an electronic Phoropter (RT-6100), Autorefactor (ARK-1) and Lensometer (LM7) from Nidek providing highly accurate refractive measurements for spectacles and contact lenses prescriptions. There is also an in-house Nidek Retina Scan Duo™ 2 OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) that acquires rapid high quality scans of the optic nerve, macula and ganglion cell layer in a non-invasive way. The OCT machine is also equipped with OCT-Angiography for the dection of abnormal retinal or choroidal vasculature and assessment of the vasculature of the optic nerve head, Anterior Segment OCT for visualisation of the cornea and angle structures and Fundus Autofluorescence photography.
It is the only ophthalmology practice in Greece offering the iCare Compass ® automated visual field testing (perimetry). This particular device is equipped with Active Retinal Tracking that improves the reliability and repeatability of visual field testing and is sensitive in detecting glaucoma in its early stages. It also incorporates the “Truecolor Confocal Imaging” technology providing images of the retina and optic nerve of unparalleled clarity.
Selected patients can benefit from home tonometry using the iCare Home 2 device for a few days in order to establish any intraocular pressure fluctuations or spikes that can be associated with glaucoma.
